Culloden Battlefield

Culloden Moor, near Inverness, was the site of the final confrontation of the 1745 Jacobite Rising, where Bonnie Prince Charlie's forces were crushed in under an hour on 16 April 1746. Now cared for by the National Trust for Scotland, the moor is preserved with clan grave markers, a memorial cairn and an award-winning visitor centre telling the story of the battle.
