Maeshowe

Maeshowe is a superbly preserved Neolithic chambered cairn on Orkney, built around 5,000 years ago and aligned so the setting midwinter sun lights its inner chamber. It also holds the largest collection of Viking runic graffiti outside Scandinavia.
