This makes it a great destination for sun worshippers. But with the Paklenica National Park and the historic port of Zadar nearby, this is also a great place for sports enthusiasts and culture lovers. Snorkel in clear water The whole family will enjoy days of fun in the water at Paklenica Campsite. You can walk to the beach from your luxury accommodation, but take a chair, as the beach is made of pebbles. The campsite is located behind an extended beach ridge, which ensures a calm sea and makes it ideal for your children. They will also have great fun in the campsite’s swimming pools. There is a paddling pool for the little ones, and for the older ones there is an outdoor swimming pool with sun terrace. There are several water sports that you can try during your holiday. The clear sea is suitable for snorkelling and surfing. Climbing in Paklenica National Park There are plenty of sporting activities to do once you get out of the water, because the Velebit Mountains come into view not far from the coast. The entrance to the Paklenica National Park is 2 km from the campsite. Many hiking trails have been marked out here which take you along spectacular rocky cliffs. The park is also a great destination for climbers. If you could use some help planning your (sporting) trips, ask for advice at the campsite. What’s on the menu tonight? Paklenica Campsite is located near the town of Starigrad, the tourist centre of this region. Starigrad has a lively centre with several restaurants, but you can also enjoy a good meal at the campsite itself. That makes a nice end to a day full of activity. For those who prefer to cook for themselves, there is a large supermarket within walking distance. Sunset over Zadar The historic port city of Zadar is about a 45-minute drive away and is easily accessible for a day trip. You will find Roman remains here and a unique circular church from the early Middle Ages. Plan your visit to last until late into the evening because Zadar is renowned for its beautiful sunsets. More natural spectacle can be admired during a day trip inland to the Plitvice Lakes. In days gone past, the Korana River formed lakes, caves and about ninety waterfalls here.
