About the area

Uig has been a significant settlement for centuries, with evidence of human habitation dating back to prehistoric times. The village developed as an important maritime hub, particularly with the establishment of the ferry service to Tarbert and Lochmaddy in the Outer Hebrides. Skye has been inhabited since the Mesolithic period and was ruled by Norse Vikings until the 13th century. The island became part of Scotland in 1469 and has maintained strong Gaelic traditions and is a centre of Scottish Gaelic language and culture.

Powered and unpowered camping pitches for tents and camper vans/motor homes. Two self-catering units available (Cèol na Mara and Jubilee Cottage).
