The GR11, sometimes called the Senda Pirenaica, runs the length of the Spanish Pyrenees from Cap de Creus on the Mediterranean to Cape Higuer on the Atlantic, mirroring France's GR10 on the opposite side of the watershed through Aragón, Navarre and Catalonia.

Routekaart

Terrein

Similar in character to the GR10 — sustained mountain walking with high passes, though the Spanish side tends to be drier and rockier with fewer refuges spaced further apart in places. Waymarked with red-and-white GR flashes.

Tips

Refuges are more sparsely spaced than on the French side, so carrying more food and being prepared to camp is more common. Many walkers combine sections of the GR11 and GR10, crossing the border where convenient, since the two routes run close together at several points.
